DOES BLOGGING HELP TRAINING

I was wondering what everyones opinion would be on blogging. I cannot for the life of me understand the need or fathom the way in which we could make it effective for trainers. Could you think of two good reasons we need to blog to help trainers or for that matter the training industry itself. I for one cant find any... can you?
